Man fatally shot in Germantown parking lot
A 57-year-old man was killed in a shooting that happened Friday night in Germantown, Maryland.
There were a number of emergency calls for shots fired in an apartment complex in the 19500 block of Gunners Branch Road at around 8 p.m., police said.
Upon arrival, police found multiple shell casings in the parking lot and a man with “apparent gunshot wounds” behind one of the apartment buildings, according to police.
Police gave aid to the man until fire and rescue crews came. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses said they saw a number of people who drove away from the area, but there are no suspects in custody at the moment, according to officials.
The police department said it’s “too early in the investigation to provide suspect or vehicle descriptions,” adding that they’ll provide more information when it’s available, such as the man’s name, after they inform his next-of-kin.
