[Men's Golf] Jared Tigges commits to golf at St. Ambrose
St. Ambrose University Men's Golf Coach Jeff Griebel is excited to announce the signing of one of the top high school golfers from the State of Iowa.
Jared Tigges, a senior at Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll, Iowa, has signed a letter of intent and will attend St. Ambrose in the fall 2018.
Tigges finished in 10th place individually at the Iowa High School Boy's Class 2A State Golf Championship as a junior in 2017. He also finished in 10th place as a sophomore in 2016 and was named to the Class 2A Boys Golf All State and All-Tournament Team. Tigges was the 2017 Hawkeye Ten Conference boys golf medalist and the sectional champion and was named First Team All-Conference. He currently is in sixth place in the Iowa Boys Junior Golf PGA tour rankings with six top-five finishes in 2017.
"We are very excited to have Jared Tigges joining our golf program at St. Ambrose University," Coach Griebel said. "Jared is one of the top high school golfers in Class 2A in the State of Iowa and he will be an immediate impact player for our program next fall."
Tigges will be joining a St. Ambrose golf team that has qualified for the NAIA Men's Golf National Tournament 13 times since 2000. St. Ambrose will host the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run Golf Club in Silvis, Ill., May 15-18, 2018.
