“I’ll never forget this, because it was the moment I saw with my own eyes that the America I love was becoming a nation that steals refugee children from their parents and caged them,” lamented Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. “To date, no one has been held accountable. We need to save these kids.”

Photos of the freshman New York congresswoman at the U.S.-Mexico border showed her bent over, hand covering her face, convulsively weeping at the sight of “children in cages.”

Except, as FoxNews.com reported, “there was no sight of actual migrant children during the protest.”

But no matter. The 29-year-old former bartender turned Democratic thought-leader repeatedly likens southern border detention facilities to “concentration camps” and claims Nazi-like Border Patrol officers sadistically order women and children detainees to “drink from toilets.”

“It’s not just the kids,” she bewailed. “It’s everyone. People drinking out of toilets, officers laughing in front of members of Congress.”

Meanwhile, Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., who chairs the House Oversight and Reform Committee, lashed out at acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan for 10 minutes over the same issue.

“You feel like you’re doing a great job, right?” Cummings asked McAleenan.

“We’re doing our level best in a very challenging situation,” responded McAleenan before being angrily cut off by Cummings.

“What does that mean? What does that mean?” bellowed Cummings, playing to the TV cameras. “When a child is sitting in their own feces, can’t take a shower? Come on, man. What’s that about? None of us would have our children in that position. They are human beings.”

Yet, as McAleenan accurately responded, it is the lack of funding from the United States Congress that has led directly to the overcrowded conditions migrant children have had to endure “for way too long.”

But regardless of the facts, virtually all top Democrat politicians gleefully join in the denunciation of President Donald Trump as a hateful, Hitler-like figure ghoulishly abusing innocent children.

Even Hillary Clinton, condemning America’s current refugee crisis last summer, piously sermonized: “I went to a lot of years of Sunday school – even taught it from time to time. I’ve studied both the Old and New Testament, and what is being done using the name of religion is contrary to everything I was ever taught. Jesus said, ‘Suffer the little children unto me.’ He did not say, ‘Let the children suffer.’”

Reality check: Despite all the tearful, self-righteous denunciations of “children in cages,” “drinking from toilets,” “concentration camps” and other absurd accusations, the left’s great concern for children proves upon closer examination to be – like most things with today’s left – little more than posturing, projection, gaslighting and craven power politics.

Indeed, not only with regards to immigration policy but in virtually every area of life, the far left that controls today’s Democratic Party poses the greatest single threat to children in today’s America.

It’s all about power

Behind the sensational images of detained children daily featured by the elite media lurks a shocking truth – that America’s border crisis is intertwined with, and dependent upon, a huge international criminal operation exploiting children while benefiting Mexican drug cartels, smugglers, human traffickers and other villains. But most of all, benefiting the Democratic Party.

For Democrats, the game is simple: The vast majority of illegal aliens, given a “pathway to citizenship” including the right to vote – something all top Democrats advocate – statistically will vote for Democrats. Thus the left is literally flooding America with future Democrat voters, radically altering the nation’s traditional demographics, culture, unity and wellbeing, all for the express purpose of transforming the electorate into what they themselves call a “permanent progressive majority.” America would then be perpetually ruled by one party, like Detroit and San Francisco, and would suffer the same fate as those once-great cities.

But there’s more to it. Not only does a de facto “open borders” policy portend the creation of a new electorate and the unraveling of America’s Judeo-Christian culture, Constitution and bedrock institutions, but current immigration policies also enable – indeed, invite – Central American “refugee” families to cynically use innocent children as props to get into America by gaming her immigration laws. If countless children are sexually abused, sold into sex slavery or “recycled” as pawns to get unrelated families into this country, and if human traffickers and drug cartels are enriched in the process, today’s Democrat Party leadership has proven that it doesn’t care. Democrats’ actions, as distinct from their words, serve the sole interest of their acquiring power.

But immigration is just one area wherein Democrats’ addiction to power trumps genuine regard for the wellbeing, safety and sanity of children. There are many others:

* Most obviously, today’s Democrats have proven they care very little for the yet-to-be-born children of American women – particularly black children. In New York City, more African-American children are aborted today than are born. Such was precisely the oft-stated intention of open eugenicist and Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, whose legacy continues unabated into the present.

The abortion demon is out of the closet – out and proud. Recently passed state laws openly embrace and even celebrate late-term abortion and de facto infanticide. Planned Parenthood officials are seen on hidden camera haggling over how much money they can get for the choicest aborted baby body parts. Aborted human baby parts are grafted onto mice for mad-scientist experiments. Tee shirts are proudly sold trumpeting messages like “Shout your abortion,” “God loves abortion,” “Safe. Legal. Shameless.” and “Abortion is freedom.”

But to secure that “freedom,” over 63 million American children have paid the ultimate price.

* Likewise, the left cares very little for the nation’s toddlers who are being continually confused and indoctrinated with the immoral and pathological sexual/gender delusions of the LGBT movement, most recently via the rapidly growing national craze called “drag queen story hour.”

One must wonder: Where did this idea come from, of having a deeply troubled, mentally ill and arguably demonized man, clothed and made-up as a woman (and sometimes as a dragon-headed creature), reading stories about happily adjusted homosexual families to America’s precious toddlers in the nation’s taxpayer-funded public libraries? All to the apparent applause and delight of the clueless grownups in attendance. This “drag queen story hour” phenomenon is even starting to appear in some churches, as occurred recently in Cincinnati’s Mount Auburn Presbyterian Church.

Why are such events so very important to the left?

Because, to put it bluntly, today’s left, especially the sexual-gender revolutionary left that revels in men invading women’s showers and locker rooms and dominating women’s sports, is stark raving mad. And for such an unambiguously delusional worldview to successfully be transplanted into the minds of the next generation of innocent children, they have to be seduced, confused, intimidated, corrupted and programmed.

* The transgender agenda – the single most delusional and purely totalitarian movement in America today – has created an epidemic of “rapid-onset gender dysphoria,” a pseudo-scientific name for a form of mass hysteria now being pushed on the nation’s children. Reinforcing the deranged belief that some children are trapped in a body of the wrong gender and then plying them with puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and even so-called sex-reassignment surgery amounts to what the president of the American College of Pediatricians, Michelle A. Cretella, M.D., calls “large-scale child abuse.”

* America’s youth are being brainwashed – yes, that’s the correct word – by progressive “education.” A recent viral video released by the Family Policy Institute of Washington featured a five-foot-nine-inch Caucasian man asking college students, on camera, simple questions about his identity. Student after student was totally unable to disagree with him when he stated – in turn – that he was actually 1) a woman, 2) Chinese, 3) seven years old, 4) six-foot-five, and 5) a six-foot-five-inch Chinese woman.

Repeat: Very few of these obviously intelligent college students were able to tell a five-foot-nine white guy that he is not a six-foot-five Chinese woman.

Why? Not because they’re stupid, which they aren’t. And not because they can’t actually see with their own eyes that this 30-something white man is not seven years old or a super-tall Chinese woman. But because these young people are scared to death. They have been brainwashed, having had so much fear injected into them by today’s intimidating, Orwellian, identity-politics campus culture that they dare not question another person’s “truth” – even if it’s demonstrably insane.

As Dennis Prager correctly puts it, “The dominant force in America and many other Western countries today is fear of the left.”

What’s really happening?

Innocent children make corrupt, compromised people feel uncomfortable, very simply because they remind them of what they have lost. That is why some people feel compelled to destroy children’s innocence by confusing or corrupting them – to “put out their light” – which results in a perverse sort of temporarily relief for the darkness within them. To illustrate this with an extreme example: This is exactly why sexual predators like Jeffrey Epstein are attracted to under-aged girls; seducing and corrupting them, thus extinguishing their innocence, provides a heinous form of gratification that goes beyond the merely sexual. The guilt such people feel for their past depredations is temporarily relieved by corrupting the innocence in another person.

Thus, children are not just unfortunate casualties of the left’s multifaceted political, cultural and moral revolution. They are the target.

Children represent a blank slate to the revolutionary left. Whatever words you choose to describe this movement – “leftist,” “progressive,” “socialist,” “Marxist” – beneath its veneer of nonstop virtue signaling and continual idiotic accusations of “bigotry” and “racism” lies a dark reality: The left embodies a worldview and political-cultural movement in outright rebellion against God, His laws, values and plan for mankind. They have their own plan.

If the original sin in the Garden of Eden was an attempt to become our own god – to determine good and evil on our own, without submission to God – then today’s left is a phantasmagoric display of the many variations of what happens when we try to be our own god.

When we reject reality, even unassailable truth like the biological reality of male and female, and instead insist, against all evidence and reason, that a man is a woman, that America is irredeemably racist and the worst country on earth when it’s actually the best, that borders are somehow immoral, that beautiful babies in their mother’s womb are not beautiful babies – then we are compelled by a dark, deceiving spirit to confuse, intimidate and indoctrinate everyone else so we can initiate them into our alternate reality.

And the biggest victims of all are our children.
