Amador County co-op wine shop expands sphere of influence
Husband and wife Brian Miller and Deidre Mueller discovered this after purchasing the Amador 360 co-op wine shop and tasting room in July 2012, and quickly outgrowing the 800-square-foot layout.
To the left is a living room setup, offering couches and armchairs for lounging, an ottoman for putting feet up and shelves of books for browsing.
All around are quirky, whimsical touches like lighting above the bar made from wine barrel parts, and a barrel table painted with Rubenesque women stomping grapes.
The experience: I was expecting more tourists at the somewhat remote location, but most of the other guests seemed to be regulars, shooting the breeze about who among their mutual friends had done what and how.
On Fridays, Lucy's Spice Box delivers preordered three-course dinners for pickup, crafted in a community-supported commercial kitchen in a 40-foot shipping container in the town of Volcano.
