Vanderpump Rules: Stassi Schroeder Explains Calling the Cops on Faith Stowers
Former Vanderpump Rules star Stassi Schroeder explained why she called the cops on Faith Stowers, an action that led to her firing from the show.
Stassi Schroeder has broken her silence after being fired from Vanderpump Rules. The former Bravo star appeared on the Tamron Hall Show on Thursday and finally explained why she called the cops on Faith Stowers.
Schroeder rose to fame as an original cast member on the hit spinoff show Vanderpump Rules. The show followed the ups and downs of the servers who worked at Lisa Vanderpump's West Hollywood restaurant, SUR. However, following the season 8 reunion, things came to a shocking end for Schroeder and Kristen Doute after they were fired from the show for calling the cops on former cast member Faith Stowers. During an Instagram Live chat in June, Stowers revealed that Schroeder and Doute called the cops on her for a robbery committed by another woman. The shocking revelation was made at the height of the Black Lives Matter movement following the death of George Floyd. Bravo moved swiftly in terminating Schroeder and Doute. In addition, newcomers Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni were also fired after fans discovered their past racist tweets.
Following her termination, Schroeder made an effort to release a statement on Instagram during the height of the backlash. However, aside from her pregnancy announcement, Schroeder has remained silent on the matter. She decided to speak out for the first time in an interview with Tamron Hall. The former "Straight Up With Stassi" host acknowledged her silence since her firing three months ago, US Weekly reports. "I felt like it would be better for me to take the time to get a greater understanding of everything and the issues before I opened my mouth again,” she explained. Hall asked Schroeder for context on what led her and Doute to call the cops on Stowers.
“Kristen knew [people] who were texting her and said, ‘There's this girl who has stolen from us and we think it's this person in the article and....her name is Faith,’” Schroeder recalled. “And when you're on a show like Vanderpump Rules, your existence on that show is kind of dependent on sticking your nose in other people's conflict or creating conflict that might be woven into a storyline. And not to say, this is completely my fault because I was absolutely wrong, but it wasn't just a photo that we saw. There were other reasons why we had thought that… I legitimately thought we were solving crime. I literally thought that. I was completely wrong. I was completely, completely, completely wrong.”
When it comes to comments about her being labeled a racist, Schroeder took accountability." I never felt like I was a racist, I don’t have hate in my heart, but I recognize that I wasn’t anti-racist," she told Hall, "I wasn’t, and that’s something I’ve been learning throughout all of this.” The published author held herself accountable and expressed how much she is learning. She has a daughter on the way who she wants to be proud of her.
