SENATOR Lindsey Graham has warned the “chance of another 9/11 just went through the roof” as he slammed Joe Biden’s handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal.
The 66-year-old Republican’s chilling warning came as he claimed the war with Afghanistan has now “entered into a new deadly chapter” as a result of Biden’s decisions.
The South Carolina senator also warned of “the parade of horribles that are about to unfold” after 13 American service members were killed a suicide blast at Kabul airport.
Graham said Biden has “set the conditions for another 9/11” with the way he handled the withdrawal of US troops after two decades of war.
And he said he has “never been more worried about an attack on our homeland”.
He told CBS’ Face the Nation on Sunday: “I think it’s dereliction of duty to leave hundreds of Americans behind enemy lines, turn them into hostages, to abandon thousands of Afghans who have fought honorably along our side, to create conditions for another 9/11 that are now through the roof.”
He added: “President Biden said that he wanted to take this, Afghanistan, off the plate for future presidents. He’s done the exact opposite.
“For the next 20 years, American presidents will be dealing with this catastrophe in Afghanistan.

“This war has not ended, we’ve entered into a new deadly chapter. Terrorists are now in charge of Afghanistan.”
When asked what he would have done differently to Biden, Graham said: “Well, number one, I wouldn’t have withdrawn.”
He also said he would have kept counter-terrorism forces on the ground and held the Taliban to the terms of the agreement they made with the Trump administration.
And Graham also doubled down on his call for Biden to be impeached.
He said said the president has “ignored sound advice” and has “been this way for 40 years”.
“This is Joe Biden being Joe Biden,” Graham said. “He’s been this way for 40 years, but now he’s the commander-in-chief. He’s not a senator.
“He’s not the vice-president. These are commander-in-chief decisions. I think the best you could describe is dereliction of duty at the highest level.”
Biden has been criticized by both Democrats and Republicans for the handling of the evacuation of troops from Afghanistan.

He is the fourth president to battle the Afghan crisis – two decades after George W. Bush deployed troops following 9/11 as he tried to eradicate international terrorism.
But Biden now faces calls to resign over his handling ofAfghanistan, with Donald Trump has said he would “never” have allowed the horror Kabul airport bombing to take place.
The ex-president took another swipe at Biden as he slammed him for giving Taliban insurgents a “kill list” of people waiting to be evacuated.
And US politics expert Thomas Gift, of University College London, thinks the way the crisis has unfolded is extremely damaging for Washington’s reputation.
He told The Sun: “It’s very embarrassing for the administration and I think it will severely hurt the White House’s reputation on foreign policy particularly at a time when Biden has said America is back.
“Afghanistan will be the defining foreign policy issue for Joe Biden if not the defining issue overall.”
