Destiny 2: How To Get Insidious (& God Roll) | Screen Rant
Insidious is a four-burst Pulse Rifle reward in the Vow of the Disciple Raid, and it has great perks for Destiny 2's PvE and PvP activities.
One of the best new Pulse Rifles that players can get in Destiny 2 is the Insidious weapon from the Vow of the Disciple Raid. Insidious is unique among its weapon archetype because it has an Aggressive Burst frame, meaning it fires a four-burst instead of the typical three. Additionally, Insidious deals Arc damage, and it actually has a few different God Rolls that may come down to the user's preference and stat build.
Like all other Vow of the Disciple weapons, players can get the crafting pattern for Insidious by completing the extraction for five Deepsight Resonance variations. One of the benefits of weapon crafting in Destiny 2 is that players can level up their weapon to unlock enhanced variations of perks, and reshape that weapon to be more powerful than any random roll could be. For example, the Demolitionist perk generates grenade energy whenever players get a final blow with Insidious, and the enhanced Demotionlist generates an improved amount of it. Enhanced perks are unlocked as players use their crafted weapons in any activity.
Players can earn the standard version of Insidious as a reward from the Caretaker and Rhulk encounters. Additionally, the secret chests will reward players with weapons they have already found, so there is actually more opportunity for players to earn Insidious during a second playthrough of Vow of the Disciple. More Vow of the Disciple rewards can also be found if players complete the secret puzzle, which is guaranteed to award one weapon pattern after the Raid is completed. An additional weapon pattern can be purchased with Spoils of Conquest the first time the Raid is completed per week as well, otherwise, the Insidious weapon pattern can be randomly earned from reward chests at the end of the Caretaker and Rhulk encounters as well.
These are the best perks for the Insidious Pulse Rifle in Destiny 2:
- Arrowhead Brake
- Appended Mag (PvE), Extended Mag (PvE), Accurized Rounds (PvP)
- Demolitionist, Rapid-Hit (PvP), Dragonfly (PvE)
- Rampage (PvE), Adrenaline Junkie, Vorpal Weapon
Demolitionist and Adrenaline Junkie work well with any grenade-centered Void 3.0 build in Destiny 2, and because Insidious deals Arc damage it's likely that this weapon will be a popular choice for the Arc 3.0 update coming later in Year 5. Additionally, Rapid-Hit and Adrenaline Junkie work well together for PvP, as Adrenaline Junkie also gives players slightly more time to take advantage of the damage boost than Rampage does. Vorpal Weapon is also a nice perk to have for both PvE and PvP activities, as it deals extra damage against bosses and Guardians with their Super active.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia.
