Frustrated Halo Infinite Players Think TV Show Is a Wasted Opportunity

Fans of Halo Infinite have noticed that the game is lacking cross-promotional content with the Halo TV show. This is part of a much larger negative sentiment that has been pervading the game's fanbase recently, as several Halo Infinite players are unhappy with the state of the game and its live-service elements.
It seems like Halo Infinite could be having some trouble adopting the live-service formula present in so many other high-profile franchises. Infinite's multiplayer was the first in the series to go free to play, which pleased countless gamers during the weeks following its successful launch late last year. Most fans believed that a bevy of new content was on the way, along with fixes for the game's numerous shortcomings-- the most notable being its problematic progression and battle pass system. However, many players feel that the changes made to the game have been few and far between, even though Halo Infinite has added new modes and unlockables. With the arrival of a new Paramount+ show based upon the iconic lore of the series, it was believed that new cosmetics, events, or content would be made available.
That hasn't been the case, though, and fans are once again angry at Halo Infinite. It's interesting to see fans react this way, as cross-promotional content is not usually something so fervently demanded. These frustrated feelings are perhaps a testament to the state of Halo Infinite as it begins its second season. If the game provided more content that fans were happy with, the lack of crossover TV show content would likely not be as controversial.
It does seem somewhat odd that Halo Infinite would lack any TV show references or events, as this seems like an easy and cost-effective way to advertise the new series. There's a solid chance that some kind of crossover content will arrive in the future, however-- especially if the show does well. Hopefully, this lack of content is a sign that 343 Industries is hard at work on even better additions for the game.
