Ear severed in Potrero Hill broken-bottle slashing

The melee broke out around 11:25 p.m. when three men went after a 23-year-old man in a building on the 2200 block of 23rd Street, said Officer Albie Esparza, a San Francisco police spokesman. One of the suspects used a broken glass bottle to slash and stab the victim and possibly cut off his ear, police said.
