MPs to quiz BBC chiefs over bias after Joe Lycett was allowed to ridicule Liz Truss on Laura Kuenssberg’s new show
BBC boss Tim Davie faces the wrath of MPs today amid a row over anti-Tory bias at the national broadcaster.
The director-general has struggled to keep a lid on woke and leftie slants.
Fresh fury erupted this weekend as comedian Joe Lycett was allowed to hijack the launch of Laura Kuenssberg’s new political show to mock Liz Truss.
And MPs are expected to raise the multiple occasions the Beeb has been accused of one-sidedness since Mr Davie ordered a crackdown last year.
Examples include Labour stooges featured as impartial commentators and brazen doom-mongering over Brexit.
Tories are sharpening their knives as Mr Davie is hauled before the Commons Culture Committee this morning.

Gleefully relishing his publicity, Lycett yesterday said he was told the new PM had reacted to his heckling with “a face like a smacked a***”
Despite a huge backlash, he said: “I genuinely don’t think the BBC are upset about it.”
Blasting the bias, Tory MP Lee Anderson said: “It’s been happening for over ten years now at this corrupt BBC.”
BBC News chief Deborah Turness insisted staff strive to make it “the most impartial and most accurate it can be”.
