[Women's Soccer] Plenty of Contenders Vying for a Postseason Berth
With three weeks remaining in the regular season, nine teams still have their sights set on claiming one of the six playoff berths in the upcoming conference championship tournament beginning on Nov. 5. No. 18 Embry-Riddle, winners of nine in a row, has built a commanding lead over the rest of the Cal Pac with 24 points, nine in front of Westcliff. Benedictine Mesa, which suffered its first conference setback on Sunday at Simpson, has 13 points, SU and UC Merced are close behind with 12, and Saint Katherine and Antelope Valley each have 10 points. Pacific Union and La Sierra, both sitting at nine points, still have an outside shot at earning a spot in the postseason tournament. The tournament's first round will be played at home sites on the weekend of Nov. 5, with semifinals and finals taking place at La Sierra University in Riverside on Nov. 10 & 12.
