THIS is the horror moment a rickety crossing dubbed the “Bridge of Death” collapsed leaving two tourists dead.
At least 50 people were walking across the bridge over the Ovčarsko Kablar Gorge in Serbia when it snapped, plunging dozens into the cold water.

Made up of planks of rotten wood full of holes, Serbia’s minister of construction, transport and infrastructure said the flimsy footbridge was shut to visitors at the time.
An investigation has now been launched into how the bridge came to be overloaded with 50 people.

The tourists involved were on a tour of Serbian monasteries, local reports said.
They were using the bridge to reach the Jovanje monastery on the opposite bank of the river.
The priest who was with the tourists had warned them to cross to ramshackle crossing in small groups.
But he was reportedly ignored and the group piled onto the bridge, causing it to collapse.

Emergency services and rescue teams were scrambled and people were frantically pulled out of the water and treated at the scene by more than 80 medics.
Local media said the injured were taken to the hospital in the nearby town of Cacak.
The lifeless bodies of two women were tragically found in the river after reportedly getting tangled in the ropes of the collapsed bridge.
According to reports, there were no warning signs on either side of the bridge to stop visitors using it.
