As the anniversary of his mother Natasha’s death creeps up, Nick (Ben Price) takes Sam out of school for a few days in order to spend some quality time with his son despite the fact he and Leanne (Jane Danson) are wracked with shot nerves over Harvey Gaskell’s (Will Mellor) prison letter.
During tonight’s episode, fans saw Leanne hunt through the bin to find the letter from the prison that she and Nick had initally discarded of.
Soon Leanne is seen sitting in a prison waiting room as Harvey walks out to sit opposite her.
An unbothered Harvey listens as Leanne rants to him about the trouble he has caused before insisting she does not want to hear from him again.

But then, Harvey drops a shocking bombshell.

Harvey then shockingly admits: “He’s been writing me letters. Loads of letters.”

As Leanne sits back down, the pair discuss how Sam had been sending the letters up to 3 or 4 times a week to question Harvey on his behaviour and why he killed his mum.
The murderer tells Leanne that Sam had questioned how he could have killed someone and says he is sick of receiving them and added it wasn’t a good look to have a 11 year old pen pal in prison.
Fans of the soap at home were left stunned at the chilling revelation that Sam had been attempting to make contact with his mother’s killer.
One gobsmacked fan wrote: “Oh wow! So that’s who Sam was writing to?? Poor thing”
Another added: “Harvey doesn’t even feel bad the child’s life he’s ruined is writing to him.”
A third questioned: “Where’s Sam getting all the stamps? First class is about a quid a go these days!”
While a fourth joked: “Sam has a prison pen pal and I can’t even get a text back x #corrie”
