Hundreds of puppies don their best costumes for Brazil’s dog carnival

If you’re needing an early tonic to the Sunday scaries – look no further than the Blocao dog carnival.
Hundreds of pups were paraded through Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Saturday to mark the celebration.
Millions of people attend every year to see these cute pets in their finest of outfits, just days before humans hold their very own party on the streets of Brazil.
The dogs were dressed in everything from clown costumes to superhero capes.
Traditionally, the Brazilian Carnival traditionally kicks off on the Friday before Ash Wednesday, to mark the beginning of lent.
The country’s federal government expects 46 million people to join the festivities this year – that run until February 22.
