The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, May 30, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
With an area of low pressure lingering in the area, a few
showers will continue across the Carolinas and Virginia
tomorrow. Like the days prior, this rain is unlikely to be
heavy, but will keep dreary weather in place. Clearer and
dry conditions are expected in the Northeast, with
temperatures climbing above the historical average. In the
Plains, thunderstorms are expected. A few may turn severe
from Kansas northward, with hail and damaging winds
possible. With recent rounds of rain in the region, heavy
rain from these storms can lead to flash flooding. In the
West, showers and perhaps a storm can be expected in the
Sierra, and may enhance snowmelt in the region. This can
lead to localized flooding due to excess runoff.
