SMALL BITES: Stay cool this summer with Sip & Dip Catamaran Cruise
The three-hour tour from downtown West Palm Beach to Peanut Island at the Lake Worth Inlet allows you to can drink, snorkel, swim and do all those aquatic things just a splish-splash away from a cocktail bar.
This is “Small Bites,” a South Florida Sun Sentinel feature with tiny tidbits on the food and beverage scene — because we know that sometimes you just don’t have room for a long article. You want a little news brief instead, an amuse bouche of information, if you will. Enjoy!
WHAT:
Gilligan’s Island? Not exactly. The new Sip & Dip Catamaran Cruise is, indeed, a three-hour tour … sans being marooned for three TV seasons, that is.
These weekly excursions, presented by Visit Palm Beach, sail from downtown West Palm Beach, cruise along Palm Beach Island before heading to Peanut Island at the mouth of the Lake Worth Inlet.
The “sip” part? That would be the cash/credit bar with snacks (chips, cookies, crackers) and:
- Beer — Bud Light, Coors Light, Modelo, Yuengling, Founders IPA
- Sodas —Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite
- Wine — Pinot, Chardonnay and Cabernet
- Cocktails — Rum punch, margaritas and mojitos (traditional and flavored)
- Bottled water
Guests may also pre-order premium bottles of wine and Champagne.
And the “dip” part? After they drop anchor, you can escape the heat by splish-splashing while swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding or testing your balance on something called an Inflate-a-BULL (get it?).
“We are thrilled to introduce the Sip & Dip Catamaran Cruise,” says Brian Marozzi, founder of Visit Palm Beach, a tour and excursion company that organized the experience. “This excursion offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.”
