Illinois woman screams racial slurs after refusing to pay for beer at Walgreens: report
A 69-year-old white woman in suburban Chicago screamed racial and homophobic slurs after being caught trying to take beer out of a local Walgreens drugstore without paying, according to Patch.com.
The incident, which took place on October 4 in La Grange, Illinois, saw police summoned to the store. The woman reportedly ended up purchasing the beer. Store employees declined to press charges, but had officers issue the woman a no-trespass order.
The woman responded by tearing up her copy of the order and leaving the store to head to a bus stop, according to the report — although it added she returned ten minutes later and screamed the N-word. She later departed on a bus.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
These sorts of racially-charged incidents have gathered attention around the country in recent years.
In March, police investigated after a video showed a man in a community outside Buffalo, New York, shouting racial slurs and calling for Black people to die.
Shortly after, a man arrested for a long history of racist and xenophobic attacks on Black motorists and his Latino neighbors, who had a trove of Nazi and KKK memorabilia in his home, was ironically exposed as being an immigrant himself.
