I’m a Brazilian waxer & people’s hygiene habits left me traumatised… Saturday morning customers are also the worst
A BRAZILIAN waxer has left people horrified after revealing some of the gross hygiene habits professionals regularly have to witness.
Stephanie shared both her own personal experiences and those experiences by other beauticians – and revealed why Saturday morning customers are always has least favourite.
The beauty whizz revealed that people’s hygiene habits left her traumatised[/caption]In a clip shared to TikTok (@stephanielaynes), she shared one beauty pro’s comment which read: “I closed my shop in February, I don’t regret it.
“I never knew people had such bad hygiene.”
Stephanie responds: “Being in skincare, you will realise people’s cleansing, bathing, all of the above habits as an aesthetician.
“And for some is very traumatising, and for others, it’s very shocking, because you’re going to be understanding that the condition of the skin kind of stems and leads back to bad hygiene.”
She goes on to say that it’s not just the skincare routine or the bathing or even the “poop butt,” but adds there’s a lot of other things that go into hygiene.
The beauty whizz recalls: “I’ll never forget when I was working in a spa, the Saturday mornings were always very interesting because a lot of the party girls would come straight from their partying all night to the spa to get their services.
“And the amount of alcohol that would be coming out of their pores – it traumatises you.
“There’s a lot of stuff that you see in the spa industry.
“I laugh about it now because I think it’s a routine….or maybe I’m just jaded because I’ve seen everything.
“But for newbies, when I train and I invite folks to our location, especially beauty schools, I try to be as open and honest as possible so it’s not as shocking…”
She adds: “But again, I don’t think there’s anything as shocking as poop butt.
“But we’ll save that for another poop butt conversation.”
The video has since garnered an impressive 94k views and several comments from horrified social media users up and down the country.
“I just can’t understand. I make sure I’ve exfoliated, scrubbed, washed & double wash before I go for my Hollywood,” wrote one.
A second penned: “The funk behind people’s ears when I do a haircut. Like a mix of deadskin/wax almost black in colour.”
A third commented: “In a way this makes me feel better. I’m always anxious about my hygiene, & you have made me realise that I am in fact one of the clean ones.Thank you!”
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “Thank you talking about this. Sometimes as professionals we feel like we cant speak on client experiences like this but its important for new estis to know what to expect/what their getting in to.”
A further chimed in: “This is horrendous! I can’t leave the house without showering let alone go for intimate waxing. I wash thoroughly within an hour of my appointment.”
And one more pointed out: “I work in surgery and there is so much bad hygiene – this is why we wear protection.”
