Warriors vs. Wizards injury report
Draymond Green and Gary Payton II remain the only Warriors who are sidelined.
The Golden State Warriors are hoping that they can turn their three-game winning streak into a four-game winning streak tonight, when they host their former teammate Jordan Poole and his new team, the Washington Wizards. If you’re at Chase Center, please clap loudly for JP. He deserves it.
Neither team is at full strength, but neither team has any unexpected absences, either. Here’s the complete injury report.
Warriors
Out — Gary Payton II (right calf strain)
GPII is starting to get closer to returning from an injury that has kept him out since late November. But it’s still going to be a while before we see the defensive ace back on the court.
Out — Draymond Green (league suspension)
Speaking of players we won’t see for a while, it seems like we’re probably still a few weeks away — at least — from Green returning from his indefinite suspension and suiting up in a jersey again. Take all the time you need, Dray — this is much bigger than basketball.
Questionable — Brandin Podziemski (low back soreness)
Podziemski left Tuesday’s win over the Boston Celtics with back soreness. Here’s hoping he can play tonight, as he only just earned a spot in the starting lineup and has been playing sensationally.
Wizards
Out — Danilo Gallinari (rest)
Gallo deserves some rest, as this is his first season back after missing a year due to an ACL injury ... the second of his career. It’s his first season in DC, and the Wizards are his sixth NBA team. Despite the injury recovery, this is just his fourth absence of the year.
Out — Delon Wright (left knee sprain)
Delon, the younger brother of former Warrior and current Warrior studio analyst Dorell Wright, hasn’t played since November 10 due to a knee injury. Here’s hoping he’s back on the court soon.
Out — Johnny Davis (left calf strain)
Davis, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, is still trying to carve out a role on the Wizards. But first he needs to get healthy, as this is the ninth consecutive game that he’s been sidelined for.
Enjoy the game, Dub Nation!
