Ellie, 22, lifted Strictly’s Glitterball trophy in December with her partner, Vito Coppola, will be joined by her fellow Corrie actresses Brooke Vincent and Lucy Fallon.
Emmerdale stars Amy Walsh, Roxy Shahidi and Laura Norton have also signed up to appear alongside Hollyoaks actresses Jorgie Porter and Jamelia.
A source said: “Ellie proved to be hugely popular on Strictly and ITV think she’ll be a hit on this fly-on-the-wall series.
“Along with the other actresses, Ellie is inviting fans to have an insight into what her life is really like.
“Soaps are absolutely massive in the UK and get over 10million people tuning in each week so ITV think this could be huge.”
Ellie said: “I’m so excited about Drama Queens.
“People are so used to seeing me play the character Faye Windass and I’m just so excited for everyone to see who I am and what goes on in my day-to-day life as just Ellie.”
Fellow actress Brooke, who played Sophie Webster in Coronation Street until 2019, will be showing her life as a mum-of-two.
She said: “I am excited to show the authentic side of having small children whilst trying to navigate my way back into the acting world.
“Drama Queens allows me to showcase the reality of trying to find the work-home life balance of a young actress in what can seem a glamorous world.”
Fellow new mum Lucy, who welcomed her first child Sonny last February, added: “I’m excited for viewers to see a real ‘behind the scenes’ of my chaotic life as an actress and a first-time mum.”
The show is being filmed now and will air later this spring.
Rebecca Kenny-Smith, Director of Programming, Unscripted, Lime Pictures said: “We’re thrilled to bring audiences a new kind of reality show that goes beyond the glitz and glamour, offering a genuine and raw portrayal of what it’s really like to be a soap star.”
