Geri Horner reveals the real reason she always wears white despite her colour-popping Spice Girl past
SHE may have gained millions of fans as the vibrant Ginger Spice – but Geri Horner has now fully transformed into White Spice.
The 51-year-old wife of F1 boss Christian Horner ditched her colourful wardrobe a few years ago – including her iconic Union Jack dress – and now prefers an all-white wardrobe.
And it turns out there is a reason behind the fashion transformation.
Back in 2019, a source said Geri made the decision to avoid wearing colour going forward and was delighted with her “clean and ladylike” new look.
They revealed: “Geri has led a very colourful life, but earlier this year she decided she wanted her clothes to become more muted.
“She loves white clothes – she thinks they look sharp, clean and ladylike.
“And she has told her stylists to only bring her white outfits from now on.
“Her new sophisticated look has led some of her pals to joke that she is becoming more like Posh Spice.
“But with her gorgeous red hair, there’s no chance of anyone forgetting which Spice she is anytime soon.”
Geri – previously known as Geri Halliwell – donned vibrant costumes for the 2019 Spice Girls tour, but off-stage favoured her colour-free look, and fans praised the mum-of-two for her “sophisticated and gorgeous” new look.
And years down the line, and Geri is still loving her crisp white trouser suits and classy midi dresses – and even wears white when horseriding.
As someone with an intense schedule, a simple colour palette has helped her make outfit choices quickly.
Speaking to The Sun, she said: “Everything becomes really simple. It’s like wearing a school uniform as an adult.
“It matches with everything and I literally don’t have to think in the mornings.
“It kind of looks like you’ve made an effort when you haven’t.”
It’s rare to see her in anything but white or creamy tones unless it’s for a runway event.
The former singer wears a variety of different styles and doesn’t tend to replicate her outfits.
She has been spotted in everything from elegant summer dresses to sleek suits, but of course, they’re all white.
This comes as Geri is reportedly “too upset” to talk to “anyone” as her husband Christian Horner gears up for a D-Day grilling over claims of “inappropriate behaviour” at Red Bull.
The Spice Girl is said to be devastated by the allegations made by a female staffer – but will stand firmly by Horner, 50.
The glamorous Oxfordshire-based couple married in 2015 and have one child together, Montague, aged seven.
The racing boss is also stepdad to Geri’s daughter Bluebell Madonna, 17, and has another daughter, Olivia, 10, from a previous relationship with ex-partner Beverley Allen.
Sources say the investigation is set to centre on the employee’s concerns about Horner’s strict work regime and does not relate to any sexual impropriety.
Red Bull Austria said on Monday: “After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation. This process, which is already under way, is being carried out by an external specialist barrister.
“The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as practically possible. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”
