But there was some light relief for all involved after a brilliant moment on Tuesday.
Wilson appeared to just about hit the black while going for a long pot of the red.
The commentators immediately questioned whether he had committed a foul.
And as the audience watched on, Wilson went up to the ref before admitting his shot had indeed been illegal.
Fans applauded the ace’s honesty as a TV replay of the incident went ahead.
However, the screen froze at the exact moment of the foul hit.
This caused Wilson to joke: “I changed my mind, it wasn’t.”
