The little-known hotel freebies that will free up space in your suitcase – and save you hundreds
A CHAIN of hotels across the UK and Europe has a range of secret freebies that guests won’t have heard.
Trying to pack light can be a challenge when going on holiday, even in the UK.
And often forgotten are the little things, like sunglasses and spare bags.
However, Kimpton Hotel & Restaurants, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, has teamed with Anthropologie to offer free loans to guests who want to look stylish, or have just left something at home by accident.
The service lets guests borrow a number of accessories from the high street brand for the duration of their stay.
This includes things like braided or beaded handbags, as well as acrylic clutches perfect for an evening out.
Also on the menu are aviator and retro sunglasses, and a stylish gold choker necklace.
If you were to borrow a bag, a pair of sunglasses and the necklace, you would save more than £200 if you had bought them instead.
Guests just need to speak to the front desk at about the programme to be given the menu of items.
Hotels in the UK that offer the loans are the Kimpton Fitzroy in London, as well as Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester, Kimpton Blythswood Square in Glasgow and Kimpton Charlotte Square in Edinburgh.
If you’re heading to Europe there are a number of hotels to choose from too.
This includes both Kimpton Aysla in Majorca and Kimpton Vividora in Barcelona.

Amsterdam’s Kimpton de Witt is also offering the new scheme.
It’s not the first unusual offering for Kimpton guests.
Back in 2017, the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Portland hosted a nightly wine hour with a pet psychic to find out their ‘troubles’ as well as offered an alcohol free pet beer.
They also used to offer Kimpton Karma rewards, with freebies such as free WiFi, wine tours, meals and spa treatments for people who posted about the hotels bon social media.
It’s not the only freebie that Brits can find while on holiday.
Hard Rock Hotels let guests borrow Fender guitars and Nixon headphones during their stay.
Ruby Zoe guests in London can also hire an electric guitar to the room, along with an amp.
And Z hotels, which are found across the UK, have three-hour cheese and wine sessions.
Don’t forget to ask for the famous chocolate chip cookie too, when staying at a Doubletree by Hilton hotel.
