Liverpool vs Arsenal preview

Liverpool’s US tour kicked off with a 1-0 win over Betis last weekend, with a relatively strong side taking to the pitch.

Dominik Szoboszlai’s goal the difference, with fans getting their first real taste of the football to expect under new boss Arne Slot.

Preparations kick up a notch when they travel to face Arsenal next, with the Gunners having already tested themselves against two Premier League opponents.

They started with a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth last week before a narrow, late 2-1 win over Manchester United in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Both games were followed by a penalty shoot-out too which added some extra excitement, with the Gunners winning one and losing the next.

The last five meetings between the pair in all competitions have seen both teams scoring in four of those.

Arsenal’s level of pre-season opponent so far – and the fact their Euros and Copa America stars are back in action – could well have them in a better place than Liverpool at present.

Arteta will make plenty of changes again but it’s likely there’s goals for and against both of these teams, in the squads they’ve brought.
