'Sasquatch' Sighting Goes Viral, Gets Savagely Debunked Online
A supposed Bigfoot sighting has been caught on camera in a wooded area of Lawton, Oklahoma, a small town about three hours from Oklahoma City. However, as the video began making the rounds online, where it quickly went viral, eagle-eyed viewers are pointing out why it seems to be a hoax—and a quite obvious one, at that.
The video was posted to TikTok on Tuesday by Emmanuel Alfaro, who called the alleged encounter the "scariest" moment of his life. In the brief, nine-second clip, the camera pans in on what appears to be a Sasquatch sitting up against a tree, about to munch on a handful of greens, when it suddenly sees the person filming.
Before anything else can happen, the cameraman can be heard exclaiming "oh sh-t!" before ostensibly hauling away.
"Scariest moment of my life ... I really think I caught a f--king Bigfoot on camera in Parallel Forest," Alfaro captioned the clip. "I [was] just doing some sightseeing and enjoying the day and saw something in the distance. I'm still shaking as I type this."

According to Only in Oklahoma, the Parallel Forest has a reputation for being haunted. Built by the federal government as an experiment to deal with the effects of the Dust Bowl, the land boasts over 20,000 red cedars that were planted exactly six feet apart in every direction on over 16 acres.
Perhaps due to the inherent creepiness of the uniform planting, the forest has spawned countless stories of urban legends, satanic rituals, and "everything else that can scare the living daylights out of you."
But Bigfoot? Perhaps not. As the video began to go viral, with over 1.5 million views at the time of publication, skeptics piled into the comments to debunk the footage.
"Google 'Jack Links Costume Horror Dome,'" write one user, referring to a popular costume that retails for $179.99 online. "Same exact thing, and if you think it's not, then you just want to believe." Another user added: "Bro that’s the Jack Links costume."
Yet, there were some believers, who noted that it was evidently the clearest footage of a Sasquatch yet. "You know what?" chimed in another user. "Why not, this world is insane right now so why can't Bigfoot be chilling under a random tree."
Honestly, they're not wrong. If it brings anyone delight to believe that the truth is indeed out there, then who are the rest of us to say otherwise.
