Road closures in Opelousas Sunday for the Creole Festival Parade
OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) -- Motorists in and around Opelousas may have to make a detour on Sunday due to the 30th annual Creole Festival Parade.
Officials said preparations for the parade include installing barricades along the parade route. Those not attending the event are asked to plan an alternate route if traveling in the area on Sunday between 11 a.m and 1 p.m.
The route will begin at E. Landry Street and Wallior Street and proceed along E. Landry Street west to Union Street, then turn north on Union Street, before disbanding at N. Union-N. Main Street and Prudhomme Lane.
The parade will wrap up the weekend of the Holy Ghost Creole Festival, put on by the Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
