CNN conservative Scott Jennings could be Trump's pick for press secretary: report
One of President-elect Donald Trump's staunchest defenders on CNN is in the running to serve as the next White House Press Secretary, Politico reported Wednesday.
Scott Jennings, who previously served as an aide to former President George W. Bush and Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), has become a regular on panels discussing Trump and the Republican Party, where he often raises the ire of the rest of the panel by defending Trump's more outrageous statements and actions.
In recent months, other CNN commentators have grown increasingly agitated with Jennings over his gradually more animated outbursts to go to bat for Trump.

Reportedly, Trump is seriously considering either him or his campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, but they are not the only ones in contention.
Others, according to campaign insiders, "include Fox News commentator Katie Pavlich, former White House spokesman Hogan Gidley, spokesman for America First Policy Institute’s Marc Lotter, RNC spokesperson Elizabeth Pipko, and former Treasury official Monica Crowley."
In his previous administration, Trump went through a number of press secretaries, including Sean Spicer, who became infamous for lying about Trump's crowd size and insisting that Adolf Hitler never used chemical weapons; Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who went on to become governor of Arkansas; Stephanie Grisham, who turned on Trump after leaving office and even spoke at the 2024 Democratic National Convention, and Kayleigh McEnany, who was herself a massive Trump defender on CNN before taking that role.
Drama frequently erupted at White House press briefings under the Trump administration, with Sanders in particular coming under fire for telling lies about former FBI Director James Comey.
