Baldwin police chief 'very very upset' about recent shootings, could be gang-related
BALDWIN, La. (KLFY) --- Three people were hospitalized Tuesday following a late-night shooting in Baldwin off of Lincoln Street.
Baldwin Police Chief Anthony Gibson said two of the people injured Tuesday night have been released from hospital and the other remains in stable condition.
Gibson said that shooting and one that took place Jan. 3 could be related.
"We think that this case, involves the case that we had last week on Rod Lane," Gibson said. "I think it could be a gang-related connection."
Gibson said he takes what is happening in the town personally.
"I'm upset," he said. "I'm very very upset."
He said his department is working with the sheriff's office to develop a task force to prevent the shootings from continuing.
"When you got kids playing down the road and you got these young men pulling out these guns and shooting," Gibson said. "Kids could have got struck by these bullets. As the chief of police, I'm not going to tolerate this kind of shooting all over my town."
