Gayle King Pulls Out Decade Old Yellow Dress and Stiletto Heels for 13 Year CBS Mornings Anniversary
Gayle King is celebrating 13 years at CBS today. The anchor was celebrated on Thursday’s episode by her co-anchors for her role on the station’s “CBS This Morning” show for being there for more than a decade. In the episode, King was given a bouquet of yellow roses on behalf of Drew Barrymore. Yellow is King’s favorite color.
For the taping, King wore a yellow dress. She first wore the dress on her first day on air. She has since worn the dress on each anniversary.
“It seems so insignificant considering what’s going on in the world today,” King said on the taping referring to the fire crisis in Los Angeles. “But I’m very happy to be here 13 years later but I still keep thinking about what’s going on in California”
“I remember Diane Sawyer,” she said later. “I said Diane how have you done this for 10 years I could never do anything for ten years.”
King paired the dress with a pair of stiletto pumps. The shoes appear to be a d’orsay style meaning that while they have the typical covering of the toe and the back of the foot, the middle of the foot is exposed.
King is a bit of a shoe fanatic, often sporting eye-catching heels. In fact, last year she helped tell the story of Sneex, the new sneaker-stiletto. Since talking about it on-air she’s been spotted on multiple occasions wearing the shoes which are reportedly more comfortable than typical stilettos because of their design.
Otherwise though, she’s never been a fan of metalic pumps or brightly colored stilettos, injecting a bit of fun and experimenting with different textiles in her footwear.
