14 Afghan prisoners deported from Pakistan after release

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation reports that 14 Afghan prisoners, who had been imprisoned due to a lack of documentation, have been released from Pakistani prisons and deported back to Afghanistan.

Officials in the Ministry of Refugees stated that these newly released prisoners returned to Afghanistan on Tuesday, January 14 after being freed from Pakistani jails.

According to information from the Torkham Border Administration in Nangarhar Province, these prisoners had been detained in Pakistan’s Balochistan province for 15 days.

Officials from the Torkham Border Administration explained that the reason for the detention was the lack of legal documentation for the migrants.

It is worth noting that, while international reactions have called for halting the deportation of Afghan migrants from Iran and Pakistan, officials from both countries have consistently emphasized the need to strengthen the return process for Afghan migrants.
