HGTV Star Joanna Gaines’ Rare Video Shows How Her Son Crew Is a Decorating Pro Like Her
If you’re an HGTV fanatic like we are, chances are you know about Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines; and their adorable family. And during one of these sweet family moments, we see that their youngest, Crew, is already a lot like his decorating-loving mama!
On March 25, Joanna shared a compilation video of her youngest son Crew’s adventures in the last bits of snow! She shared the video to her Instagram with the caption reading, “We got to get away a couple weeks ago to play in the snow! We ❤️ Colorado!”
In the video, we see Crew having so much fun in the snow, right when Spring approaches. As he soaks up the winter fun, we see him making mini snowmen, giving them the perfect stick mouths and placing snowballs on top of each other in a very decorative way. We see the family playing Monopoly, some arts and crafts moments, puzzling, and seeing a wild fox; all the ingredients for an adorable family winter night (in March)!
Not only does this show how the family keeps the fun going all year round, but it also shows how Crew already has a decorative knack like his mom!
It’s no secret that Joanna is the decorating mastermind behind her and her husband’s empire, not only showing her chops on the show Fixer Upper but releasing brand after brand, showing people how to do so.
And here’s how we know Crew is already a lot like his mama: he uses nature to inspire decorating, just like Joanna. In a previous interview with Homes and Gardens, she said, “I always tell my team when I get stuck from an inspiration standpoint, or I can’t figure out what the next step is, I always go outside. I don’t go online, I don’t look at books – I have to step outside. Nature is our greatest teacher with design because it does it so perfectly,.”
For those who don’t know, Chip and Joanna met in Waco, Texas, while they attended Baylor University. Chip visited her dad’s auto shop a lot, and then they hit it off.
They started dating in the early 2000s and ended up getting engaged in 2002. They married a year later in 2003 and have since welcomed five children: Drake, born on May 2005, Ella Rose, born on Oct 2006, Duke, born on May 2008, Emmie Kay, born in Feb 2010, and Crew, born in June 2018.
“He’s like my little wisdom. I’m like, I can learn more from Crew — just the way he teaches me to live and to notice things,” said Joanna in a rare interview with Today.
