Dems to hold town halls in April to 'call out' House Republicans in target districts

Democrats will hold town halls this month to “call out” House Republicans in target districts, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) said in a Wednesday press release.

“As Republicans prepare to vote on a budget resolution that would threaten Social Security and Medicare, cut jobs for veterans, put health care and food assistance on the chopping block, and enable the Trump-Musk agenda as it wrecks the economy and threatens families, Democrats are teaming up over the April recess to host five new town halls to call out House Republicans in target districts who’ve refused to meet with their constituents in-person,” the press release from the DNC reads.

The groups behind the upcoming town halls are the DNC, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and the Association of State Democratic Committees (ASDC), according to the release. The release also said the April town halls will take place in the districts of Republican Reps. Juan Ciscomani (Ariz.), Rob Bresnahan (Pa.), Gabe Evans (Colo.), Richard Hudson (N.C.) and Ann Wagner (Mo.).

Four of the five Republicans are on a list recently rolled out by the DCCC of GOP members it plans to target in the 2026 midterms.

Democratic Sens. Cory Booker (N.J.) and Chris Murphy (Conn.), as well as Democratic Reps. Maxwell Frost (Fla.), Greg Casar (Texas) and Greg Stanton (Ariz.) will take part in the April town halls, the release stated.

“In the first three weeks holding ‘People’s Town Halls,’ we’ve already convened 71 events in 35 states. And here’s the upshot: Democrats are listening, Republicans are cowering, and folks are as fired up as I’ve ever seen. In both red and blue communities, people are sick and tired of Donald Trump and Elon Musk destroying the economy, threatening health care and Social Security, and making life worse for families,” DNC Chair Ken Martin said in a statement in the Wednesday release.

“In April, we’re doubling down with leading Democratic voices joining even more town halls in key districts across the country. Republicans still want to pretend like their constituents don’t exist, but we believe Americans deserve to have their voices heard,” he added.
