Elon Musk's Private Jet Rules Leaked: 'No Small Talk, Fly Fast'
The private jet company NetJets Inc., owned by Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway, found themselves the unlucky recipients of a cyber-attack. The security breach was revealed on April 10 and high-flying clients, including Elon Musk, were hit.
The details about the SpaceX founder's preferences while flying on NetJets planes reveal notes on his temperament, per Bloomberg, which obtained the leaked documents. He was described as a “nice, laid-back" guy, but he doesn't want to chitchat unless he initiates the conversation.
Despite his reportedly easy-going personality, the billionaire does have some demands when he's traveling for work. Musk isn't much of a conservationist, as the memo states that he "is not interested in conserving fuel" and “wants to fly as quickly and as direct” as possible to his destination.
As the Starlink owner, it's not surprising to hear from the NetJets breach that Musk "does not enjoy unexpected Wi-Fi outages." Airline staff were also reminded to stand back if there are internet issues: "Mr. Musk considers himself self-sufficient and does not need help with technology — if he does, he will ask," the note reads, per Bloomberg.
Musk is someone who reportedly likes his beauty rest, too. “He likes to take a nap, even on day trips," per the memo. To maximize his rest, the cabin needs to be at 65 degrees with dimmed lights and passenger air vents off because "the noise" bothers him.
NetJets responded to the hacking, telling Private Jet Card Comparisons, “We recently detected and addressed a security incident involving an employee’s account. Upon detection of the incident, our cybersecurity team immediately initiated our response protocols and implemented containment measures.”
The spokesperson also noted that "the activity did not affect our operations or our ability to service our customers.”
Musk has not publicly responded to the NetJets security breach.
