McDonald's Announces Major Menu Change
McDonald's has announced a major new menu change.
Some observers are perceiving the change as a swipe at competitors Chick-fil-A and Wendy's.
"Spotted: a delicious new addition to McDonald's menu," McDonald's wrote in a press release on April 8, 2025.
The item? Lemonade.
"You know what they say - when life gives you lemons! Our Lemonade quickly became a fan-favorite in select local markets after being introduced in March 2023. Now, it's making its way to the national stage," McDonald's wrote.
"Starting April 8, customers everywhere can get a taste of our Lemonade as it rolls out as a permanent menu fixture at participating restaurants nationwide. Whether you’re ready for a sip of Summer or looking for the perfect pairing to your go-to meal all year round, our Lemonade is sure to make a splash!" the company continued.
"Featuring real lemon juice, bits of lemon pulp and real cane sugar and handcrafted by our beverage experts – we’re serving up some citrus-ly good flavors. So, squeeze a Lemonade break into your daily schedule and head to McDonald’s starting April 8 to try one for yourself," the press release notes.
According to its website, McDonald’s lemonade recipe "includes real lemon juice, bits of lemon pulp and real cane sugar. There are 190 calories in a medium Lemonade drink." The drink clocks the beverage at 190 calories per serving, according to the company. The website says the lemonade has 45 grams of sugar.
"At participating McDonald’s. Delivery prices may be higher than at restaurants. Delivery/other fees may apply," McDonald's noted.
