MANILA, Philippines – After Nora Aunor was laid to rest at the Libingan ng mga Bayani on Tuesday, April 22, select Philippine theaters have been honoring her legacy with film screenings of the late Superstar’s classics.

Ayala Malls Cinemas, Robinsons cinemas, SM Cinemas, and other select theaters in Metro Manila are screening some of the movies starring Aunor, a National Artist who had an “extensive filmography” of 170 movies, according to the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

VIVA Films released The Superstar Collection: A Tribute to the National Artist, which showcases three of Aunor’s iconic films.

Tickets are priced at P150 in cinemas at Fishermall Fisher Box Office in Quezon City, Gateway Mall Cineplex, Robinsons Movieworld at Robinsons Antipolo and Robinsons Manila, and SM Cinemas at SM North Edsa, SM Mall of Asia, and SM Fairview.

The collection includes Beloved (1985), a drama about friendship, betrayal, and intrigue, starring Aunor with her former husband Christopher de Leon and acclaimed veteran actress HIlda Koronel. It’s directed by Leroy Salvador.

There will also be a rerun of the biographical drama The Flor Contemplacion Story (1995), directed by Joel Lamangan and written by National Artist Ricky Lee and Bonifacio Ilagan, where Aunor plays the titular overseas Filipino worker who was hanged in Singapore.

Also in the Superstar Collection lineup is the horror film Mananambal (2024) — Aunor’s final appearance in the big screen — where she plays an elderly traditional folk healer from Sitio Cambugahay, Siquijor.

The Ayala Malls Cinemas at Ayala Malls The 30th, Pasig, are showing two more Nora Aunor classics with the A-Rewind: A Celebration of Classics, a tribute done in partnership with ABS-CBN’s Sagip Pelikula.

The two Aunor films to be screened are directed by Mario O’Hara — Tatlong Ina, Isang Anak (1987) is a drama about love, loss, and motherhood, while Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos (1976) sees Aunor playing a school teacher who was raped by a Japanese soldier (Christopher de Leon) but later falls in love with him.
