Billy Ray Cyrus Signals a Fresh Start With His Family
Billy Ray Cyrus' love life with Elizabeth Hurley has been making news, but there appear to be more shifts happening behind the scenes.
Billy Ray's family has been fractured since 2022 after his divorce from wife Tish. Their children took sides after the split, including Miley, who spent more time with her mom and less time with her dad.
"The divorce between her parents have put a strain on her relationship with her dad and it's been hard to connect with him in the last year," an insider told E! News in 2022. "She hopes they can eventually work on their relationship."
That day has arrived after the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer posted a selfie on May 9, celebrating youngest son Braison's birthday. Billy Ray, Braison, Miley, and her boyfriend, Maxx Morando, were all in the snapshot. Fans went crazy over the rare sighting of the Hannah Montana father-daughter duo together in the comments on the post.
Miley also took to her Instagram Story to clear the air about a rumored feud with Tish (it's not true) and her relationship with Billy Ray.
“My dad and I have had our challenges over the years," she wrote. "Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else. I'm at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing.”
Much of the turmoil came with Bily Ray's October 2023 wedding to singer-songwriter Firerose, who was 27 years younger than him.
The Cyrus family rift became more evident after Miley won her first Grammy Award in February 2024 and didn't thank her dad. Sister Brandi, Tish, and Morando all got a shout-out from the "Flowers" singer, but she added, "I don't think I forgot anyone, but I might've forgotten underwear. Bye!"
