Sean 'Diddy' Combs Trial Judge May Grant Graphic Photo Request
The judge presiding over the trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs might grant the media's request to obtain graphic photos and videos in the high-profile case.
If he does so, it would be over the objection of the prosecution and Combs' defense attorneys. The photos and videos are expected to contain very personal moments due to the nature of the trafficking and other charges against Combs.
Combs is standing trial in a New York courtroom. Opening statements and the first witness testimony started on May 12, 2025, and the most anticipated witness is Combs' ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who accuses him of abusing her, one disturbing scene of which was captured on an already widely-published video.
On May 13, CNN reported that Judge Arun Subramanian "said he’s inclined to grant the media’s motion for public access" to the "explicit footage and images that are expected to be submitted as evidence."
However, CNN noted that the judge "said he hasn’t made a decision yet."
The attorneys on both sides in the case want the photos and videos "sealed so that only the jury and the parties will view the material at trial," CNN noted.
However, an attorney for a "media coalition" is arguing that the judge should provide "public access to the exhibits" that are presented to the jury during the trial.
The judge is not going to rule until he gets written responses from all of the parties to the media's motion for release, CNN reported.
The defense attorneys are arguing that Combs' behavior, while not always savory, does not meet the criminal standard for trafficking and coercion.
