Trump's psychologist niece spills about 'great trauma' that made him who he is
Donald Trump is the way he is because of family trauma, according to a member of that family who happens to be a trained psychologist.
Mary Trump, the niece of Donald Trump and an outspoken critic of the president, did a live question and answer session on social media Sunday.
At about the 20-minute mark of her Q&A session, Mary Trump is asked about whether her uncle's team "genuinely likes him." As part of her answer, the Trump family member says, "Nobody likes Donald. He's unlikable and he's unlovable."

"The fact that he's unlovable is his greatest tragedy, trauma, but it's also really bad for us," Mary Trump added.
Later in the session, at 32-minute mark, Mary Trump again delves into her uncle's psyche.
"Much of Donald's characterological disorder is based on the fact that he is an extremely weak person, and this is going to sound reductive but I promise you this is true, who has never gotten what he most needed and wanted in life, which is to be loved," she said on Sunday. "That is still what he most needs and wants."
Going further, Mary Trump said the reason he didn't get that as a kid was because her grandmother "was ill."
"And when Donald was in an extremely crucial developmental stage in his life, she wasn't around for about a year," she added, saying Trump's mother being gone was only part of the issue. After that, she said, Trump's "sociopath" father took care of Trump.
"My grandfather was incapable of love," she added, saying that her uncle wasn't "nurtured" at that critical time in his young life.
Trump then built "defense mechanisms," which became stronger when reinforced by his father, according to the psychology expert.
