MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) on Monday, May 19, lifted the trading suspension of Vista Land & Lifescapes and two other firms after the companies submitted their due annual reports.

The local bourse also lifted the trading suspension on Merrymart Consumer Corporation and Waterfront Philippines Incorporated (WPI) of Senator Sherwin Gatchalian’s father William.

“Given the Company’s compliance with the structured reportorial requirements of the Exchange, the trading of VLL securities will resume at 9:00 am today, May 19, 2025,” the PSE said in a disclosure.

Meanwhile, trading of WPI shares resumed at 9:15 am.

Three of former senator Manny Villar’s companies and eight others were slapped with trading suspensions on Friday, May 16, for failing to submit their annual reports on time.

While Vista Land already submitted its annual report, two other Villar-owned companies — Vistamalls and Golden MV Holdings — have yet to submit theirs as of writing.

As of 10:50 am on Monday, May 19, Vista Land’s share prices fell by 5.45% at P1.56 apiece.

The three Villar-owned companies on Friday, May 16, submitted requests to extend their deadline of filing their first quarterly report of 2025, saying they have yet to finalize their audited 2024 figures.

With a net worth of around $11 billion, Manny Villar is considered the richest Filipino, according to Forbes Magazine.

Manny and his wife Senator Cynthia Villar are majority owners of Vista Land, owning around 65% of their real estate firm. Their daughter Camille, who is set to enter the Senate after winning in the 2025 midterm polls, also holds a small direct stake in the company, according to Vista Land’s public ownership report. – Rappler.com
