WATCH: WH Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Levels Fake News Media, Demands Correction Over Qatari Plane Story
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Monday crushed the mainstream media’s criticism of President Trump over the acceptance of a plane from Qatar to temporarily replace Air Force One.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump faced heavy criticism from the Democrats and leftist mainstream media outlets after he announced Qatar was providing a $400 million Boeing 747-8 to the Department of Defense to replace Air Force One, as Boeing fumbles the job.
Leftwing outlets described the donation to the Department of Defense as a “gift” to President Trump and implied it was a corrupt transaction.
Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton even chimed in, accusing President Trump of engaging in a quid pro quo transaction, a move that unearthed her many scandals.
The President last week slammed the "Crooked Democrats" for criticizing the DoD's acceptance of the new aircraft instead of "pay[ing] TOP DOLLAR" in a message on Truth Social:
So the fact that the Defense Department is getting a GIFT, FREE OF CHARGE, of a 747 aircraft to replace the 40 year old Air Force One, temporarily, in a very public and transparent transaction, so bothers the Crooked Democrats that they insist we pay, TOP DOLLAR, for the plane. Anybody can do that! The Dems are World Class Losers!!! MAGA
On Monday, Leavitt was asked a fair question about the plane, and she took the opportunity to slam the leftist media hoax, urging members of the outlets to correct their stories.
"It's the Air Force's project to take on," she said, noting that the White House has nothing to do with the project, as the media claimed.

Reporter: On the gift plane from Qatar, three things: is there a timeline for the US receiving that plane? Do you know how long it will take to retrofit the plane to presidential standards? And thirdly, has the intelligence community, security folks, have they weighed in on whether that plane can actually be secured to presidential standards?
Leavitt: I'm glad you brought up this question because I was watching the American press spew a lot of misinformation about the plane donation last week when we were abroad. Let's be very clear, the government of Qatar, the Qatari family, has offered to donate this plane to the United States Air Force, where that donation will be accepted according to all legal and ethical obligations.
It will be retrofitted to the highest of standards by the Department of Defense and the United States Air Force. This plane is not a personal donation or a gift to the President of the United States, and everyone who wrote that last week should go and correct their stories because this is a donation to our country and to the United States Air Force. As for a timeline, because it is the United States Air Force that is accepting the plane, I would defer you to them for specifics because the president, frankly, has nothing to do with it. It's the Air Force's project to take on.
