'90 Day Fiancé' Star Dead at 55 Years Old
One of the stars of TLC's 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days has passed away after a battle with cancer.
Ben Rathbun, who was part of the fifth season of the hit reality television show, died Monday at his home in Greencastle, Indiana, according to TMZ. Rathbun, 55, had been battling Stage IV stomach cancer, which he was reportedly diagnosed with in 2024.
At the time of his death, he was surrounded by family, including his wife Mahogany Roca, who he met while appearing on 90 Day Fiancé.
Digital creator Shabootydotcom--yes, that's the actual name--was the first to report news of Rathbun's passing on Instagram.
"BREAKING NEWS: Ben Rathbun has passed away from cancer today, according to my sources," Shabootydotcom wrote. "RIP to Ben and I know this is a difficult time for his family and for Mahogany (who was still with him through these ????ing times). Sending love and prayers. ???? ???????? (Also, keep any and all negative comments to yourself. This is not the time or place)."
Season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days aired from Dec. 2021-April 2022. At the time, Rathbun was a 52-year-old father of four when he met Roca, who was 22 and from South America, online.
While many viewers felt at first that Roca was catfishing Rathbun, the two eventually met in person and clearly had a connection. They were together throughout the show and reportedly got married after it was done filming.
Rathbun and Roca remained together over the last few years and she was with him in his final moments, per multiple reports.
We'd like to take this time to offer our prayers and condolences to Rathbun's family and friends, especially Roca and his four children.
May he rest in peace.
