Fred & Rose West: The True Story Behind 'Chilling' Netflix Series
Fred and Rose West were serial killers in Gloucester, England, whose story is being told in a new Netflix series, Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story, that details the depravity behind the real couple's string of murders.
Yes, it's a true story.
According to Surrey Live, the body of the Wests' daughter, Heather West "was found under the patio at the family home after the couple's other children had mentioned their sister was buried in the garden." That drew "the attention of social services," the site says, and it led to the discovery of other bodies. That murder alone demonstrates the "evil" the couple was capable of, according to BBC.
Surrey Live described the Netflix series as "the latest binge-watch" and "chilling."
The discovery of Heather West's body was just the beginning of the horrors unearthed at 25 Cromwell Street in Gloucester, the site reports.
"There were the remains of nine women in total discovered at the Gloucester property," Surrey Live reported, saying the couple's "crime spree" spanned two decades "in which they tortured, raped and murdered their victims."
Altogether, Fred West confessed to 12 murders, according to Surrey Live. His wife was implicated in a number of them.
The BBC provided a full list of victims associated with the case. The first victim, Ann McFall, 18, was a nanny to West's kids with his first wife, BBC reported. The second victim was Catherine Costello, West's first wife.

Where are the Wests today?
"Shortly after being found guilty, Rose attempted to appeal her convictions, but her application for appeal was refused," Netflix wrote. "Rose is currently serving her life sentence at HM Prison New Hall. She continues to maintain her innocence."
Fred West is deceased, Netflix noted. He "died by suicide while in prison, a month before pretrial proceedings. Rose West was found guilty of 10 murders, and was sentenced to life in prison," the site reported.
When Rose West learned that Fred was dead, she "was emotionless," Telegraph reported.
TikTok users are discussing the series, with one calling it "disturbing."
