Bullet train set to get European tech for signalling and telcom system

India's bullet train project may award its signalling and telecommunication system contract to a Siemens-DRA Infracon JV, offering European technology, after a successful technical assessment and lowest bid of ₹4,100 crore. This bid is significantly lower than initial estimates, paving the way for a blend of European and domestic technologies. Talks are ongoing with Japanese firms for Shinkansen trainsets.
