Erin Andrews Shares New Details on Surprise Game Show Hosting Gig

Erin Andrews opened up about her upcoming stint as a game show host.

During a recent episode of her Calm Down podcast with Charissa Thompson, the Fox Sports sideline reporter spoke out about 99 to Beat, a new Fox game show she will co-host with Ken Jeong.

“I’m excited to have this opportunity,” Andrews, 47, said of the new show. “It’s with Ken Jeong, also a Fox family member. It's going to run during the football season...really exciting!”

“I don’t know how much I’m supposed to share,” she added. “It was a British game show. I’ve watched it on YouTube, it’s hilarious and fun. And here’s to the show and more seasons to come after that. I hope I crush. So it’ll be a fun challenge.”

Andrews, who previously co-hosted Dancing With the Stars for 11 seasons, noted that the new show won’t be broadcast live like the ABC celebrity ballroom competition is. “This will be taped so it will be a little different,” she said. “I was on Pyramid one time with [Michael] Strahan … I love that whole vibe and had been really taking meetings and trying to get back in that world… I’m super pumped I don’t have to wear a ballroom gown.”

Andrews noted that she aspires to become “the female version of Michael Strahan,” the retired NFL player who went on to a lucrative hosting career on Live! Wth Kelly and Michael, Good Morning America, and the game show $100,000 Pyramid.

99 to Beat will air on Wednesdays this fall on Fox, according to Deadline. Per the network’s logline, the show will feature 100 contestants going “head-to-head in a range of visually distinctive and hilarious games in an arced competition game show like we’ve never seen before.” The last contestant standing will win the grand prize of $100,000.

Jeong, who serves as a judge on the Fox competition The Masked Singer, also posted a teaser for 99 to Beat with the caption, “Can’t wait!”
