New York Mets all-star returns to Capital Region for speech
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Major League Baseball (MLB) all-star is returning to the Capital Region for a visit on Sunday. Four-time World Series-winning and New York Mets icon Daryl Strawberry will speak during two services at Northway Church, located at 770 Pierce Road in Clifton Park, on June 8.
The right-fielder is a featured guest speaker during the 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services. Strawberry will share stories about his success on the field and transformation through faith.
Strawberry played for the Mets from 1983 to 1990 and accumulated 252 home runs, 733 RBI's, and 191 stolen bases. Strawberry holds the record of home runs in the franchise's history and secured four World Series wins in 1986, 1996, 1998, and 1999.
