Walton Goggins Promises ‘There’s No Feud’ With Aimee Lou Wood
Mike White left to go film another season of Survivor, and all of The White Lotus season-three secrets came spilling out. Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood addressed rumors of their frayed relationship for the first time, with Goggins telling Variety in a June 4 interview that “there’s no feud. She is love, and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.” Wood, meanwhile, responded to speculation that she felt slighted when Goggins hosted Saturday Night Live after she criticized Sarah Sherman’s parody of her featuring oversize fake teeth as “mean and unfunny.” “For fuck’s sake, of course Walton should do SNL,” she said. “That’s got nothing to do with me.”
They are so good that Goggins got up for his phone and re-followed Wood on Instagram during the interview. “If I may add, just to put this to bed?” Goggins said. “The following or unfollowing. I’m a grown-ass man.” Wood was also unperturbed by the rumors Goggins unfollowed her after wrapping. “I think it’s such a comment on where we’re at culturally,” she told Variety. “Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don’t give a shite about Instagram.”
Goggins explained he “needed to begin to process saying good-bye to Rick and Chelsea.” He added, “I haven’t spoken to anyone,” referring to the cast. “I couldn’t handle it. Judge me or don’t. I don’t give a fuck what you think. This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me. And so that’s what I needed to do for me to process all of this.” Though Goggins was filming Fallout when the finale aired, he regretted watching it without Wood. Especially since their favorite scene — described in part by Goggins as a “very long, suspended moment of these two people looking at each other” — was cut from the finale. “Fuck you, Mike!” Goggins joked in the interview. But White can’t hear him — he’s talking to Jeff Probst in Fiji.
