BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Dunkirk's Youth and Recreation Department announced Monday that it has received a $10,000 grant from Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Legacy Funds in order to start a new sports program for local children.
The department plans on starting a "sports sampling program" for children ages 5-17 that will feature softball, basketball and soccer throughout the year. The grant will allow the department to give children in need the opportunity to learn basic sports fundamentals for free.
