Trump 'Considers Bombing Iran' As He Demands The Country's 'Unconditional Surrender'
Donald Trump is reportedly considering sending American jets to join Israel’s bombardment of Iran.
According to CBS News, the US president is weighing up the possibility following talks with his key military advisers.
Such a move would prove highly controversial among Trump’s supporters, given his previous pledges to end American involvement in foreign wars.
Speculation about Trump’s intentions has intensified since his decision to leave the G7 summit in Canada a day early.
He rebuked French president Emmanuel Macron for claiming he was returning to the White House to help broker a ceasefire in the Israel-Iran conflict, which began nearly a week ago.
Trump then added to the speculation that America could also enter the war with a series of increasingly bellicose messages posted on Truth Social.
He initially declared that “we now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran”, an apparent reference to Israel’s use of American-made equipment.
A later post said contained an implicit threat to kill Iran’s leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
It said: “We know exactly where the so-called “Supreme Leader” is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin.”
That was followed by a simple two-word post: “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”
CBS News reported that Trump “is considering joining Israel’s multiday effort to strike Iranian nuclear facilities”.
They include the Fordo nuclear enrichment site, which is buried 300 feet beneath a mountain.
However, there is a split among Trump’s advisers about whether sending US jets to take part in the war is the best way to proceed.
Among those taking part in the discussions are vice-president JD Vance, US Secretary of Defence Pete Hengseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
