Columbia County man sentenced to 10 years for child rape
STOCKPORT, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Columbia County District Attorney's Office announced that 28-year-old Favel De Leon Llamas of Gallatin was sentenced on Wednesday to 10 years in prison after being convicted of raping a child. De Leon Llamas pleaded guilty to all four charges against him on April 2.
De Leon Llamas previously admitted to sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Stockport multiple times between 2023 and 2024. He was arrested in September 2024 following an investigation by New York State Police and has been held in the Columbia County Jail since his arraignment in Claverack Town Court.
"I am proud that we have taken a dangerous criminal who raped a child off the streets," Columbia County District Attorney Chris Liberati-Conant said. "The attorneys and staff in my office work tirelessly to protect our children."
"The investigators' outstanding effort, along with that of the Child Advocacy Center, helped to ensure our office did not have to put this child through the additional trauma of a trial," said Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Nicholas Rohlfing. "This outcome would not have been possible without their expertise and dogged determination to see justice served."
De Leon Llamas will serve seven years for second-degree rape and three years for third-degree rape. Judge Brian Herman additionally ordered him to register as a sex offender and serve 10 years of probation upon his release. An 18-year order of protection was also issued on behalf of the victim and her family.
