Trader Joe's Just Dropped a Brand New Mini Sheet Cake Flavor & It's Getting Rave Reviews: 'Rich, Sweet, & Perfect'

If you love strawberries just as much as you love cake, then you’ll love the new Strawberry Mini Sheet Cake from Trader Joe’s. It’s just the right size to serve a small group of friends (or keep in the fridge for personal reasons…!) and according to those who have tried it, the flavors make this cake a winner. And because this is a seasonal item, if you want to try the cake for yourself, you’ll have to hit your nearest Trader Joe’s as soon as possible before it’s gone for good!

Natasha Fischer from Trader Joe’s List on Instagram and her friend Emily recently tasted-tested the cake and gave it an overall rating of 8.5. They noted that, although the cake itself is also made with strawberry preserves, the strawberry flavor comes mainly from the delicious cream cheese frosting.

“This is really good,” Emily said after taking a bite, later noting that the cake tastes more “natural” and free from artificial flavorings.

“Super moist with strawberry preserves baked into the cake and strawberry purée in the cream cheese frosting,” Natasha wrote in her caption. “It’s rich, sweet, and perfect for summer get-togethers—or just passing by the kitchen and grabbing a bite. Only here for a limited time so grab one while you can!”

And people in the comments are agreeing with Natasha and Emily’s 8.5 rating. “It’s yummy,” one person wrote, with another adding, “So good with the French vanilla ice cream.”

“My whole family LOVED this one, 10/10,” someone else wrote. And another person said, “I don’t care if the strawberry flavor is in the cake or in the frosting. The whole thing is bomb!”

Some people did report that the cake, though moist, was a bit too sweet for their liking. And some did find that the strawberry flavor had an artificial vibe to it.
